FD Interest Calculator

Use the FD calculator above to estimate the maturity value of a lump-sum fixed deposit. Enter your deposit amount, interest rate, tenure and compounding frequency to see estimated principal, gross interest, tax and maturity value.

RD Interest Calculator

The RD calculator estimates returns when you make recurring deposits at a monthly or quarterly frequency. You can also use the advanced settings to model additional deposits and changing interest rates over time.

Tax & Inflation Estimates

Optional tax and inflation settings help you understand the difference between a gross return, an estimated post-tax return and an inflation-adjusted value. These are planning estimates and should not be treated as tax advice or a bank's official maturity calculation.

Flexible Deposit Planning

The calculator supports multiple currencies, custom deposit schedules, variable interest rates, yearly summaries, a detailed calculation ledger, Excel export and printable reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about deposits, compounding, and tax calculation.

What is the difference between a Fixed Deposit (FD) and Recurring Deposit (RD)? ▼

A Fixed Deposit (FD) involves depositing a single lump-sum amount at the start for a fixed duration at a predetermined interest rate. A Recurring Deposit (RD) allows you to deposit a fixed installment amount every month or quarter continuously over the tenure.

How does monthly vs quarterly compounding affect my returns? ▼

Compounding frequency determines how often earned interest is added back to your principal balance. More frequent compounding (e.g., monthly vs. yearly) yields higher returns because interest starts earning interest sooner.

How is tax estimated on Fixed and Recurring Deposits? ▼

Interest earned on FDs and RDs is taxable income based on your tax slab rate. Tax applies only to the gross interest portion earned over time, never to your initial principal deposit.

What is the Inflation-Adjusted Real Maturity Value? ▼

Inflation decreases purchasing power over time. The inflation-adjusted value discounts your final maturity amount by your selected annual inflation rate, reflecting what your future money will actually be worth in today’s purchasing power.

Can I customize deposit amounts and interest rates over time? ▼

Yes! Use the Advanced sections under "Additional Deposits Schedule" to add top-up deposits on specific dates, or "Variable Interest Rate Schedule" to simulate rate revisions.
